Life Dice Conversation Cubes

Games For The Holidays

In the next three months there will be multiple opportunities to get family and friends together. Life Dice is a great way to get conversations rolling between generations. Two dice, six questions and six ways to answer create dozens of combinations to get you thinking, talking and laughing together. This is a nice alternative to the annual “what are you grateful for this year.” All of the questions relate to meaningful experiences and will help people get to know each other better and feel closer. HOW you answer is as much fun as WHAT you answer, with “sing or chant” being my favorite. […]

Twin Holy Birthdays

Happy Holy Days!  I hope that the celebrations you have already held were successful, and that the ones yet to come are inspiring. Tuesday and Wednesday are Holy Days, so we will be closed. The next trip to the Post Office will be Thursday morning. I will probably have a backlog of orders and  may not get them all out, (I will only have from sunset Wednesday till midnight to pack them all).  So if you are in a hurry, say so in the customer notes field and I will try to get your order out first. Orders sent by

Character Education Ideas From Virtues101.com The miracle is not that roses are beautiful. The miracle is that we can tell that they are. One of the greatest gifts you can give your children is an appreciation of the incredible beauty of the world around them. And the best way to do this is to talk with them about the things that you find beautiful. Take the time to point out the flowers in the meridian of the highway, the way the light hits the trees in the late afternoon, the rainbow the oil makes in the puddle.  Be specific. Use

Bicentenary 2019 – final update

With only two weeks to go before the Bicentenary, I’ve run out of several things, found one thing I thought I was out of, and reduced the price on three gift items by 50% or more. At this point, I’m essentially giving them away. Scroll down for details, or just go to our Bicentenary Page to see everything.  Just remember that items created specifically for the Bicentenary can’t be returned.  Click on any of the links or pictures to see all of our Bicentenary materials, including party booklets, pens and  posters. I found a lost box of lapel pins, so I’ve lowered the price to

MultifaithCalendar 2020

The 12-month Multifaith Calendars are in. They are even prettier than last year’s. They include all Baha’i Feasts and Holy Days, along with the celebrations of 13 other major religions. It is a beautiful and educational gift you can give yourself or anyone else interested in religious fellowship. Also, a reminder: The Bicentenary is in three weeks. It is best to allow one full week to receive materials by Priority Mail, so order now. I have not quite run out of the items listed below, but it is getting close. Here are just a few of the beautiful images in this year’s calendar.

With five weeks to go, you have time to get everything in without running me ragged. Just remember that items created specifically for the Bicentenary can’t be returned after October 1st.    Click on

Relax

The next six weeks are going to be very busy for a lot of Baha’is, with unit conventions followed by a Bicentenary Celebration and a Birthday Celebration. I thought this would be a good time to give you some tools to help you relax. Recently, a major school corporation ordered 75 copies of our Affirmation Mandala Coloring Books. I assumed it was for their art teachers. But when I asked them how they were going to use them, they gave a sobering answer. “These will be used for grievance packages, for parents who’ve lost a child or a child who has lost a

Cuddlebunny

More than just another fuzzy toy, Cuddlebunny teaches kids how to regulate their own emotions when they are upset. Cuddlebunny is a 4″ fuzzball with ears that comes with four wooden “comfort coins” that kids can learn to use to: 1) calm themselves down when they are angry or upset 2) help them gather their courage when they are afraid 3) let them feel loved when they are lonely, and 4) make them feel wonderful when they are embarrassed or ashamed. The coins come in a velour pouch along with a card of instructions. Both are clipped to Cuddlebunny by a chain and

The Hard Way

One of the least talked-about and therefore least-understood of the basic Baha’i social teachings is the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty.  A deeper understanding of this teaching shows us that it is inextricably linked to many others. Here in the US, we are experiencing a level of inequality not seen since before the Great Depression. As Baha’u’llah warned us, this has consequences. I would like to share with you three articles. The first can be summarized as: “extremes in wealth and poverty lead to scapegoating, which leads to fascism, which could very well lead to another great war.”
