Selected Immortal Passages Cards

Here are 100 of the most soul-stirring passages from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, hand-picked and translated by the Guardian himself.

Many long-time Baha’is will instantly know what I’m referring to if I say “Advent of Divine Justice, pages sixty-three to seventy-two.” Here, Shoghi Effendi shares nine pages of “immortal passages.” He says, “these dynamic and typical examples of Bahá’u’lláh’s sublime utterance,… cannot fail to produce on the minds and hearts of any one of its members, who approaches them with befitting humility and detachment, such powerful reactions as to illuminate his entire being and intensify tremendously his daily exertions.

Here you will find uplifting statements from tablets that have yet to be translated elsewhere, such as:

“This Day a door is open wider than both heaven and earth.”
“The sea of joy yearneth to attain your presence,….” 
“Nothing save that which profiteth them can befall My loved ones. “

They come in a pack of 51 two-sided full-color cards (one cover-card). The cards are 2.5×3.5″, which is bigger than our 365 Minute Meditation cards. They are actually playing card-sized, to fit the longer verses. Most of the cards have one verse per side, but some longer verses are printed on the front and back of a card, while really long verses are spread out over two or three cards. (Cards are numbered to keep them in order.) There were just a handful of verses that did not fit anything and were left out, which is why this is “Selected” Immortal Passages. The font is 12pt Georgia, which is very readable.

Use these cards for daily inspiration. Take one from the front of the deck and carry it with you to ponder during the day, then return it to the back to be read again in 50 days (or 100 if you only read one side per day). Since they are all from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, you can also pass them around at Feast as readings, or use them for deepenings.
