This was originally developed as a place to find all of the memorization quotations from the first seven Ruhi books in one place. Over the years, however, the Ruhi books have been updated so the quotations are not necessarily the same. To be honest, I don’t know exactly how many of these Writings are still being studied in any Study Circle.
That leaves this as a lovely compilation of favorite Baha’i prayers and quotations that you can feel comfortable giving to seekers. It is 25% less expensive than any of our other books of compilations. It also doesn’t hurt to memorize these quotations, even if they are no longer in the Ruhi Books. They are beautiful and inspiring in their own right.
How to use them:
For Ruhi Classes: Even though all of the quotations are not the same, Reflections make a great gift at the beginning or end for those who participate.
As a gift for seekers: The presentation is carefully designed to highlight the beautiful quotations and prayers while minimizing the workbook aspect. The introduction mentions Bahá’í study circles in a way that will encourage seekers to participate, while stressing the fact that the Writings stand alone as a source of inspiration and guidance. You will feel comfortable giving this to the same people you might give the Hidden Words or Prayers.
How it is organized:
To keep it closely linked to the Ruhi classes, all of the quotations for each book together in separate chapters that are clearly labeled. But to make it more seeker friendly, there are seeker-friendly quotes from books 1,3,5 & 7 in the first section, called Reflections on the Life of the Spirit, and the longer quotations from books 2, 4 and 6 at the end in a section called Meditations on a Life of Service to God. Prayers from all seven Ruhi books are in their own section in the middle. This makes it easier to know which selections are prayers and which are quotations.
