The Obligatory Prayer for the Departed requires the repetitive reading of six verses nineteen times each.

Keeping track of the nineteen repetitions while remembering which verse you are on, while reading tiny 9 point type out of a prayer book can be a daunting task. Remembering to switch pronouns for women is even harder. Doing it in front of a congregation just adds that much more stress.

This handy reading guide makes it all much easier.

It is two-sided. One side is for men, the other side is for women. Fold it so that the appropriate side faces out. Then the first paragraph will be on one side, and the repeated verses on the other. The first paragraph is in large 18 point type. After reading it, turn to the side with the verses. Put your left thumb on the star beside the first verse, and your right thumb under the circle with the #1 on the right. Say Allah-u-Abha, then repeat the verse 19 times, moving your right thumb down after each repetition. When you get to the #19, read it one last time. Then move your left thumb down to the next verse and begin again.
