Warm Brown and Black Mahogany Obsidian Bahai Prayer Beads will intrigue you.
Obsidian has the most ancient history of all gemstones. Tools made of obsidian were found in Mexico City dating from about 21,000 BC. A distinctive stone with a glassy luster, obsidian is formed from volcanic eruptions. In many cultures during prehistoric times, it was prized for making tools, weapons, and jewels.
Some people today believe that obsidian will protect the tender hearted from depression and to block negative thoughts from taking root in the soul. For some reason, it is also believed to be an aid in helping people to face their responsibilities with radiant acquiescence.
Mahogany Obsidian is a rich brown color with black spots. In some circles, the mahogany obsidian is also believed to promote a forgiving attitude.
There are 95, 7 mm mahogany obsidian beads as well as five counter beads at the bottom. All our other prayer beads are 6mm so these are just slightly larger. A spacer after the 19th bead allows you to easily use your favorite meditation method. The accent is a 12 mm mahogany obsidian under a pewter cap.
At 22-23″ around, they can be worn as a necklace if you wear a small hat size. (There is no clasp.)
They come in a velvet or satin pouch along with a fold-out instruction sheet with prayers, pronunciation guide and explanation of some of the many ways to use prayer beads, making this a perfect gift. The quality is unconditionally guaranteed, but please read the description of the size of the bead and the length of the strand because there is a 10% restocking fee if they are returned because they aren’t the size you expected. That is not considered a flaw.
