Violence against women is not a “women’s issue,” it is a men’s issue. But how do you encourage positive behavior rather than simply raging against the horrific actions of some men?

This T-shirt, inspired by our popular “ManKind – Let’s be both” T-shirt, invites men to be true gentlemen, with an accent on the gentle. (If you can’t tell on your screen, the words “Gentle” and “Men” are slightly different shades, to help reinforce the message.)

A Gentleman is:
1) A man of gentle or noble birth or superior social position.
2) A well-mannered and considerate man with high standards of proper behavior.

Since we are all created noble, this shirt is really a call to each man’s higher inner nature.

I’ve created two versions of the design.
For men, the phrase “Let’s be both,” invites other men to rise to their better nature.
For women, the shorter “Be both” admonishes the men they meet connect with their gentle side. I don’t usually like to admonish people with my designs, but I’ll make an exception in this case, otherwise women cannot share in the call to encourage men to to live up to a gentleman’s “high standards of proper behavior.”

The women’s version comes in Antique Cherry Red, Antique Sapphire and Purple.
NOTE: The women’s version is the same unisex shirt as the men’s. Only the colors and phrase are different.

The men’s version comes in all of the other colors, though, of course men can wear either version.
