At my 50th HS reunion, I was talking with my friend Myra Brown about our desire to do good in the world and the feeling of being overwhelmed that went with it. She told me that her motto was “Do for one, what you wish you could do for many.” I asked if I could turn it into a T-shirt and she laughed, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to.

So I did, and then I turned it into a tote bag too.  The large number 1 is made of dozens of multi-colored ones to suggest that the MANY is made up of lots of single individuals, and that helping ONE individual is a way of helping many.

We can’t do everything. But we can do something. And that often starts with helping just one person.
