I’ve been waiting 30 years for this book!
When I was a young Baha’i, Dan Jordan was one of my heroes. He was the “Boy Genius” of the American Baha’i Community – responsible for wonderful teaching and deepening materials that brought the Baha’i teachings to life in very practical ways. Among his memorable contributions were the cassette tape “Keys to Harmony,” the pamphlet “Becoming Your True Self,” the filmstrip “Birds of Diverse Feathers Consult Together,” and, my favorite, “The Comprehensive Deepening Program,” which is still available through Special Ideas. Outside of the Baha’i Community, he was known for developing the ANISA model of education.
Sadly, after his murder in 1982, all of his Baha’i projects were abandoned. The Personal Transformation Program was ended, and his writings and tapes went out of print. This has been a source of great sadness for me personally. I hated to see his life and his work forgotten.
So I was thrilled when I learned about this book. I hope that future historians write thousands of pages about Dr. Jordan’s life and work, but in the mean time, this is a very good start. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. The first third of the book is about his life, and the last two thirds includes examples of some of his most profound talks and articles. This includes the entire text of his groundbreaking essay “On Becoming Your True Self.”

The Life and Legacy of Daniel C. Jordan: Musician, Philosopher, Psychologist, Educator
In “A Most Remarkable Man,” the author details the life of Daniel C. Jordan and his journey to the Bahai Faith. The author presents articles written by Jordan on various topics, including poverty, self-actualization, and the breakdown of civilization. The author also highlights Jordan’s growth, including his initial skepticism and later embrace of spirituality. At the age of 18, Jordan was introduced to the Bahai Faith through a book by Baha’u’llah called The Hidden Words, after being introduced to the faith by a woman named Charlotte Gillen.

A simple look at the person of Dan Jordan, and a good collection of his writings and ideas on education and the Baha’i Faith and its ability to impact an individual’s personal transformation. Exploration of his ANISA model of education was very informative.
