Vinyl banners are heavy and expensive. They are great for hanging outdoors for months at a time, but overkill for a display backdrop that you only use indoors or for a few days or weeks a year.
That’s why I’m making this beautiful backdrop from a twin flat sheet instead. It is easier to carry, ship and hang and costs much less than the same size in vinyl. It is just under 5×8′, which is plenty big to make an impression as you walk by. (Note: This is almost 3x bigger than our 3×5′ version.)
This backdrop uses the beauty of the Baha’i House of Worship to attract the eye, then presents the three onenesses that express the essence of the faith alongside a unifying quotation by Baha’u’llah.
Along the bottom are several Baha’i principles presented in the personalized format of “The Baha’i Faith calls me to:…”

The main image of the banner matches our most popular teaching card, so visitors can take a little piece of the booth with them to remember us by. The card has a list of principles on the back as well.
The sample backdrop I received had brilliant colors and a sharp image, including the type along the bottom. The bottom principles would be easy to read from in front of a table.
The second photograph is of the actual backdrop taped to my balcony railing with Karen for scale. The third has a four foot ruler across the top right, (not 3′) to help you get a sense of scale. The railing is 40″ high. The fabric is slightly stretchy. The plus side of that is that I did not have to iron it before hanging it as you see it. It is fully hemmed, so it will not unravel. Tape is not a permanent way to hang it. I would recommend adding velcro across the top, and perhaps across the bottom, and mounting it to a 2×2″ 8-foot board. As you can see, there is also a little bit of extra room at the top to add a pocket hem to hold a PVC pipe or electrical conduit. Obviously, this is not as perfect as a professionally produce display backdrop and stand, but for the price, it is amazing.
The fourth picture is to compare it with the smaller 3×5′ backdrop, which is a little bit darker and more vibrant, but smaller, printed on woven fabric that will fray if you don’t hem or glue it, and will require ironing before using. Either will make a big impact when viewed in person.
