Bahai Sacred Writings & Compilations
Prayers & Meditations
Biographies and History

Here are the core texts of the Baha’i Revelation – the writings of Baha’u’llah, the Bab, and Abdu’l-Baha. Several are available in multiple editions, depending on your budget and intended recipient. Every other book on this site is secondary to these. No scholar, no historian, no institution can tell you what these words mean.  They are between you and God.   — Enjoy

Topical compilations from the Bahai Sacred Texts are also in this section.

“Immerse yourselves in the ocean of My words, that ye may unravel its secrets, and discover all the pearls of wisdom that lie hid in its depths.” -Baha’u’llah

Bahai Biographies

This sections also includes biographies of the holy family as well as well-known early Bahais. This is also where you will find memoirs and stories of Bahais and Bahai Communities.

Bahai Deepening Books

When Baha’u’llah describes His revelation as an “ocean,” He is not exaggerating. No matter how long you’ve been a Baha’i, there will always be more to learn, or some principle to explore more deeply. If you want to learn more history, check out our Biographies category. To dive into the Writings themselves, check out the “Baha’i Sacred Writings” category.

The books here will help you explore the principles of the Faith more deeply, and to find practical applications for them in your own life.  Some are broad explorations of a wide range of Baha’i teachings, while others dive deeply into just one or two.

No matter which area you decide to explore, you will find pearls of wisdom that you never dreamed existed. Enjoy.

And Remember

Every Bahai needs at least two, one to use and one to give a friend.

You have questions; Abdu'l-Baha has answers. This is the third Baha'i book I ever read, and is still one of my favorites.  The questioner, Laura Clifford Barney, sat at Abdu'l-Baha's table in Haifa and asked the kinds of questions that Western Christians and other enquiring minds desperately want to know the answers to.  You can read it straight through, or skip directly to the questions that keep you up at night.

New Bahá'ís will find in it a truly comprehensive approach to the deepest foundation of the Bahá'í teachings. This is the hilarious story of a poor boy from the Midwest who became one of America's topflight TV stars. But he was bothered with a boyhood dream and eventually left the big time. He made his home in three continents and became a much-loved world traveler. Through all the laughter - and it's uproarious at times - there is an underlying serious note, and the fact that his dream came true and brought him long-sought spiritual assurance is a considerable satisfaction to the reader. This is one of the best-selling Baha'i books of all time.  It is also one of the most gentle - and humorous - ways to introduce people to the name Baha'i.  You can feel comfortable giving it to just about anyone - young or old - and rest assured that they will thank you for it when they are done!

Falling Into Grace takes an honest look at the many things in the Bahá'í Community that can test your faith . It shines a bright light on these tests, and in illuminating them, it reduces their power. This book says "you are not alone," and, even better, "you are not a bad Bahá'í for struggling with these issues."  As the title suggests, we must be willing to fall before we can be lifted up through grace.
